Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with cooking meals according to dietary guidelines and menu plans
- Support food preparation activities, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
- Serve meals to residents with kindness and professionalism, ensuring proper presentation and portion control
- Assist with stock management, including receiving deliveries and organizing supplies
- Follow all health and safety regulations to create a safe environment for staff and residents
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of meals during busy periods
Skills
- Experience in catering or cooking within a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Proven ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent attention to detail when handling food preparation and serving tasks
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team and interact politely with residents
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques, meal planning, and food presentation
