<p><b>Job Title:</b> School Caretaker (Part-Time)<br>
<b>Location:</b> Community Nursery<br>
<b>Hours:</b> 10 hours per week (6:15am &ndash; 8:15am, Monday to Friday)<br>
<b>Salary:</b> &pound;13.50 per hour<br>
<b>Contract:</b> Term-time only (39 weeks) plus 2 additional weeks during school holidays (41 weeks per year total)</p>
<p><b>About the Role</b><br>
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our friendly team at a small community nursery. This is a key role in ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and smooth day-to-day operation of our site.</p>
<p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul><div>Carrying out essential site safety checks, including fire alarms, burglar alarms, and water testing</div>
<div>Ensuring the premises are safe, secure, and ready for daily use</div>
<div>External maintenance such as cleaning outdoor areas and weeding</div>
<div>Performing minor repairs (e.g. unblocking toilets, fixing door handles)</div>
<div>Moving and assembling furniture as required</div>
<div>Undertaking basic painting and decorating tasks</div>
<div>Supporting cleaning staff with occasional internal cleaning duties</div>
</ul>
<div><b>About You</b></div>
<ul><div>Previous experience in a similar caretaker, maintenance, or facilities role is desirable</div>
<div>Practical, hands-on skills with the ability to carry out minor repairs</div>
<div>Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently</div>
<div>Good awareness of health and safety practices</div>
<div>Flexible and willing to support the wider team when needed</div>
</ul>
<div><b>Safeguarding</b><br>
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.</div>
