We are looking for a reliable, flexible, and hardworking Bank Domestic Assistant to join our friendly team. This is a bank (as required) position, providing cover for annual leave, sickness, and busy periods.
As a Domestic Assistant, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. High standards of cleanliness are essential in ensuring the wellbeing and dignity of those in our care.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the care home.
- Clean and sanitise residents' bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets, communal areas, offices, and staff facilities.
- Dust, polish, and wipe furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and maintain all flooring to a high standard.
- Empty waste bins and replace liners.
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies as required.
- Follow all infection prevention and control procedures, cleaning schedules, and Health & Safety guidelines.
- Use cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the Home Manager or Supervisor.
- Work as part of the care home team to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents and visitors.
About You
- Previous cleaning or domestic experience is desirable, preferably within a care home or healthcare setting, although full training will be provided.
- Flexible and available to work shifts as required, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and organised.
- Good attention to detail and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Friendly, compassionate, and respectful towards residents, relatives, visitors, and colleagues.
- Physically able to carry out the duties of the role.
