Overview:
Ceramic cores are a critical part of how advanced aerospace components are manufactured. At our Corby site, we produce high-precision ceramic cores that help shape some of the world's most complex engineering products.
We're looking for a General Operative – Finishing to join our PM Shift team. This role is all about precision, consistency and attention to detail. If you're someone who takes pride in producing quality work and doesn't mind repetitive tasks (because getting it right matters), this could be a great fit.
The Role
Working within our Outputs team, you'll be preparing and finishing wax-coated ceramic core products to the required quality standards. Much of the work involves careful hand movements, close visual inspection and following established processes to ensure every component meets specification.
This isn't a role where every day looks dramatically different. There will be periods of repetitive work and sitting for extended periods, but for the right person that's often part of the appeal—you know what good looks like and you focus on delivering it consistently.
Responsibilities:
What You'll Do
-
Prepare wax-coated components in line with production requirements
-
Carry out detailed visual inspections and quality checks
-
Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
-
Handle components carefully to avoid damage during processing
-
Complete production records accurately and on time
-
Support the team in meeting production and quality targets
-
Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area
-
Raise any quality, process or safety concerns when identified
About You / What You'll Bring
-
Experience in manufacturing, production, assembly or a similar environment would be beneficial
-
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot defects or inconsistencies
-
Comfortable carrying out repetitive, hand-focused tasks for extended periods
-
Able to remain focused and maintain quality standards throughout your shift
-
Comfortable sitting for long periods where required
-
Able to safely handle and lift components of varying weights
-
Reliable, patient and committed to producing quality work
-
Positive approach to teamwork and workplace safety
What You'll Get
-
Permanent PM Shift opportunity
-
Full training and support provided
-
Competitive salary and benefits package
-
A stable manufacturing environment with clear processes and expectations
-
Opportunities to develop your skills and build a longer-term career
-
A team that values quality, safety and doing the job properly—not just ticking boxes
