Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring smooth operations at the counter. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within the food service industry, contributing to a positive customer experience. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Responsibilities
- Serve customers efficiently at the counter, taking orders and processing payments accurately
- Assist with food preparation and presentation, ensuring quality standards are maintained
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area in accordance with food safety regulations
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing friendly recommendations to customers
- Manage stock levels and notify management of any shortages or supply issues
- Handle customer enquiries politely and professionally, resolving any issues promptly
- Support kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure timely service delivery
- Adhere to all food safety standards and health & safety procedures at all times
Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation or restaurant service is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Previous experience in serving or working in a kitchen environment is preferred
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when engaging with customers
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Organised with attention to detail, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained at all times
