We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Enamel Kiln Operative to join our Kilns Department.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for placing and emptying glazed and/or decorated ware on and off the kiln, as well as preparing and loading ware onto kiln cars. You'll ensure products are correctly positioned and kiln programmes are selected accurately to support a safe and efficient firing process.
You'll also be required to carry out other reasonable duties as needed to support the department and wider operations.

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
£13.11 per hour
As an Enamel Kiln Operative, you'll play an important role in preparing ware for the firing process. You'll load and unload kiln cars, prepare flatware and hollowware, position bullers rings correctly and record kiln temperatures.
You'll work as part of the Kilns Department, ensuring kiln cars are loaded safely and correctly and that the appropriate firing programmes are selected.

Place and empty glazed and/or decorated ware on and off the kiln.

Crank flatware ready to be placed on the kiln.

Place hollowware directly onto kiln cars.

Ensure bullers rings are positioned correctly prior to firing.

Ensure kiln cars are loaded correctly and the appropriate firing programme is selected.

Record kiln temperatures accurately.

Empty ware from kiln cars and cranks ready for the next process.

Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

Follow all Health & Safety regulations, Company policies and procedures.

Carry out other reasonable duties as required.

Have a good standard of English and Maths.

Have experience working within a manufacturing environment (desirable).

Be reliable, with a positive attitude and good attention to detail.

Be able to follow instructions and work to established processes.

Be comfortable working in a hands-on, practical environment.

Be able to work safely and maintain high standards of housekeeping.

Be willing to complete required training and refresher training when necessary.

Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
You'll receive full on-the-job training, including Manual Handling training. Refresher training will also be provided as required for the role.
