Overview
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Fire Door Joiner to carry out the installation, maintenance, repair of fire doors in residential, commercial, and public sector properties. The successful candidate will ensure all work is completed to a high standard while complying with current fire safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, maintain, and upgrade timber fire doors and associated ironmongery.
Carry out fire door remedial works to achieve compliance with current fire safety standards.
Fit and adjust door closers, hinges, locks, seals, thresholds, vision panels, and other fire-rated components.
Ensure all installations comply with relevant fire safety legislation and industry standards (including BS 8214 and manufacturer guidance where applicable).
Complete job sheets, inspection reports, and photographic records accurately.
Work safely in occupied residential and commercial environments while maintaining a professional attitude.
Communicate effectively with site managers, clients, and tenants regarding work being undertaken.
Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order. Follow all Health & Safety policies, risk assessments, and safe working procedures. Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Skills & Experience Proven experience as a joiner/carpenter with fire door installation and remedial works. Good understanding of passive fire protection and fire door compliance requirements. Ability to read drawings and follow technical specifications. High attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Full UK driving licence (preferred). Relevant NVQ/City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry & Joinery is desirable. CSCS card. Enhanced DBS Certificate (preferred)
