LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT - EYFS
Salary: Scale PS3 (FTE £24,331 per annum - pro rata £18,389.28 TBC)
Hours: 31.25 hours per week – 5 days 8:30am – 3:15pm. Term time only. Would consider job share.
Contract type: Fixed term (duration of pupil enrollment), term time only - 38.6 weeks per year.

Grayswood Primary School are excited to expand their support team with at least one new Learning Support Assistant. This is an opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to provide key support initially within our Reception classroom on a 1:1 basis and working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met. This role will start on a fixed term basis for the duration a pupil's enrollment but with a likelihood to become permanent.
Job overview
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be supporting pupils in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs. This role also involves providing pastoral support, and you’ll monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent.
Job requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at C/4 grade or above or equivalent
- Experience of supporting young children and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
- Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision
- Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
