Overview
To develop and maintain effective relationships with employers, local businesses and community partners to create work experience, career development and apprenticeship progression opportunities for learners and apprentices. The role will support Central Training Academy’s commitment to learner employability, meaningful employer engagement, positive progression and high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance
Duties
- Identify, contact, build and maintain effective partnerships with local and regional employers suitable for study programme work experience, apprenticeships and progression routes.
- Develop a company-wide employer pipeline, maintaining regular contact with employers and converting leads into meaningful opportunities for learners and apprentices.
- Promote Central Training Academy’s provision to employers, including study programmes, apprenticeships and potential recruitment routes.
- Represent Central Training Academy professionally at employer meetings, careers events, networking events and local business forums.
- Maintain accurate employer records, contact notes and opportunity status updates using agreed internal systems.
- Provide individual careers reviews with study programme learners and apprentices to support career planning, progression, employability skills and next steps.
- Help learners understand employment routes, apprenticeship pathways, local labour market opportunities and expectations of the workplace.
Requirements
- Proven experience in employer engagement, careers guidance, or related roles within education or training environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders including employers, learners, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of current labor market trends and apprenticeship standards.
- Ability to organise events and manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Teaching experience is desirable but not essential; a passion for supporting career development is crucial.
- Proactive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and a motivational approach to engaging others.
- Knowledge of the Gatsby Benchmarks is desirable but not essential.

Please note: the role is for 3 days per week and the successful candiate will be required to work across our centres in Clacton, Southend and Grays. Actual salary will be confirmed on appointment.
Interviews will be held week commencing the 21st September.
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
