Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care within a reputable care home environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents' wellbeing, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of personalised care plans. Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication management in accordance with care plans
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive and professional team environment
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with residents and healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour
- Organise and participate in activities that promote residents’ social engagement and wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Support residents with emotional needs, offering companionship and reassurance
- Contribute to the training and mentoring of new team members, demonstrating leadership qualities
Skills
- Proven experience working within a care home or senior care setting, with supervising experience preferred
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and regulatory standards within senior care environments
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
- Compassionate nature with outstanding organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
