Specialist Support Worker – FEMALE ONLY

Rate: £17.50 per hour weekdays, £19.50 per hour at weekends
Shifts: Weekend support, 6 hours on Saturday and 6 hours on Sunday.
Available positions: 12-hour weekend contract and casual contract to cover annual leave, sickness, and college holidays.
A driving licence is required.
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate support worker to support a 16-year-old with Cerebral Palsy and a significant learning difficulty at home and in the community. This rewarding role is suited to a dedicated care professional who can work independently and deliver high-quality, person-centered care.
About the Role
As a support worker, you will help ensure the client’s complex needs are met safely and consistently. You will be organised, experienced in supporting young people with physical or learning disabilities, and able to adapt professionally and empathetically. A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required to support community access.
This weekend role involves supporting community access, daily living activities, emotional wellbeing, and personal care needs.
About the client
The client is a bubbly, chatty young person who is fiercely independent and determined to take part in everyday activities. Her sisters and family are very important to her, and she is caring and protective of others.
She enjoys music, crafts, hair and nails, shopping, and spending time with her sisters. She has an adapted trike and climbing frame at home and requires supervision during activities and outdoor play due to limited awareness of risks.
She sustained a brain injury as a baby, resulting in Cerebral Palsy and weakness on her left side. She has difficulty using her left upper limb and hand, maintaining posture and balance, coordinating left-sided movements, and completing tasks requiring both hands.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care in line with the client’s individual care plan
- Work independently while supporting and assisting other care staff as needed
- Support the client’s daily care needs and routines
- Support the client within her home and local community environment as required
- Maintain clear communication with family members, professionals, and the wider care team
- Ensure care is delivered safely, respectfully, and in line with best practice
· Support meal preparation, including cutting food into appropriate portions.
