Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled groundworker to join our team you will need to be an allrounder including pipelaying. The ideal candidate will hold CPCS/NPORS training in plant operations. You will need to work as a team member and able to work on own initiative. A CSCS card is also required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Carry out landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy and attractive outdoor spaces.
- Operate various power tools such as trimmers, lawnmowers, and hedge cutters efficiently and safely.
- Use hand tools for planting, digging, edging, and general garden upkeep.
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and system functionality.
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators for larger landscaping or construction projects.
- Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with construction activities related to landscape features such as patios, pathways, or retaining walls.
- Perform general site clean-up and organisation to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members on project planning and execution to meet client specifications.
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools, irrigation systems, and machinery such as excavators.
- Proficiency with hand tools used in gardening and construction tasks.
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles and plant care practices.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively in various outdoor environments.
- Basic construction experience including working with materials like wood, stone, or concrete is advantageous.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Physical fitness suitable for outdoor work involving lifting, digging, operating machinery, and working on uneven terrain.
- Excellent teamwork skills along with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
