Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Stone Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining stonework in various construction and renovation projects. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, and fit stone materials accurately according to project specifications
- Use hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels to prepare stone for installation
- Operate power tools including saws, drills, and grinders safely and effectively
- Assist with bricklaying, masonry work, and other related construction tasks would be helpfull
- Install stone in kitchens bathrooms and fireplace
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high quality standards
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during work activities
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment by properly storing tools and materials
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels for precise stone fitting
- Experience in bricklaying and masonry techniques is highly desirable
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently in a construction setting
- Basic carpentry skills beneficial for supporting structural elements during installation
- Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow technical drawings and instructions
- Physical fitness to handle heavy materials and work in various outdoor conditions
