Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and proactive Fire Warden to oversee fire safety procedures within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of all personnel by implementing emergency protocols, conducting safety inspections, and coordinating evacuation procedures. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a safe working environment through leadership and organisational skills, with responsibilities that include training staff and maintaining safety standards in accordance with current regulations.
Duties
- Act as the primary point of contact during fire emergencies, coordinating evacuation efforts efficiently and calmly.
- Conduct regular fire safety inspections across all premises, identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Organise and deliver fire safety training sessions for staff, including evacuation procedures and use of firefighting equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date records of fire drills, safety inspections, and training activities.
- Liaise with external emergency services and internal management to review safety protocols and improve emergency response plans.
- Assist in the development and review of fire risk assessments, ensuring all systems are effective and up-to-date.
- Ensure that fire exits, routes, and equipment are unobstructed, properly maintained, and clearly marked at all times.
- Support the organisation’s system design initiatives related to safety infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or facilities management is desirable.
- Knowledge of system design principles related to safety systems is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple safety-related tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and liaise with emergency services.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergencies.
- Relevant health and safety certifications or training in fire safety procedures are preferred.
- A proactive attitude towards maintaining a safe working environment combined with attention to detail. Pay: £12.71 per hour
