About the Role
Power Tutors is looking for a patient, experienced KS2 tutor to provide one-to-one home education in Cranleigh, GU6. The role involves supporting a young person with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who requires a highly structured, multi-sensory approach to learning.
This is a well-established placement offering up to 15 hours per week during term time, and is ideal for a tutor with a solid understanding of autism and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering adapted KS2 Maths and English sessions in a calm, low-stimulus home environment
- Building rapport through child-led, interest-based activities
- Supporting expressive language development and social-emotional learning
- Incorporating structured movement breaks and sensory-rich activities
- Maintaining consistent routines to reduce anxiety and build learning stamina
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils with ASD
- Knowledge of TEACCH, PDA strategies, or similar autism-specific frameworks
- Calm, consistent presence with a strength-based approach
- Ability to plan and adapt resources for sensory and communication needs
- Teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) desirable; specialist SEN experience essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
