Health & Safety Consultant – Edwinstowe, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
A rare opportunity to build a rewarding H&S career with a consultancy that's stood the test of time.
Whether you're taking your first steps into health and safety consultancy or you're an experienced professional looking for a fresh challenge, this could be exactly the right move.
We are a long-established, privately owned Health & Safety consultancy with offices across the UK, including our bases in Boston and Edwinstowe and a further office in Brampton, Cumbria. Our reputation has been built over many years on delivering practical, high-quality H&S support — and the team behind that reputation is what makes us different.
We're growing, and we're looking for a Health & Safety Consultant to be based out of our Edwinstowe office. We're genuinely open to candidates at all experience levels — what matters most to us is attitude, professionalism, and a real passion for making workplaces safer.
The Role
This is a varied, client-facing consultancy position covering a wide geographical patch, predominantly within approximately Three hors of Edwinstowe. You'll work across multiple sectors and industries, meaning no two weeks look the same. You'll be supported by experienced colleagues from day one, with the autonomy to develop in the direction that suits your strengths.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out site safety inspections and audits at client premises, producing clear and practical reports whilst building and maintaining client relationships.
- Developing and reviewing H&S documentation — policies, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work and COSHH assessments
- Leading in-depth risk assessments, including fire risk assessments, and conducting incident investigations with actionable recommendations
- Providing telephone and email advisory support, acting as a trusted point of contact for your clients
- Liaising with colleagues, suppliers, enforcing authorities and other relevant stakeholders
- Reviewing, developing and delivering training courses to client teams
- Contributing positively to the growth and development of the business — your ideas matter here
Occasional travel further afield and rare overnight stays may be required. Candidates must be based within a reasonable commutable distance of Edwinstowe, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — clear reporting and confident client communication are key
- The ability to manage your own workload, adapt to varied environments and work with professionalism
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites regularly
- Based within commutable distance of Edwinstowe, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Desirable — but we'll back the right person regardless:
- Additional qualifications or experience in construction safety, fire safety or environmental management
- Previous experience in a health and safety advisory or consultancy role
- IOSH membership or working towards Chartered status
Why Join Us?
Variety like few other roles can offer. Our client base spans a wide range of sectors and industries — so you'll constantly be learning, adapting and building expertise that would take years to develop in a single-sector in-house role.
A team that actually has your back. This isn't a sink-or-swim environment. You'll be joining a close-knit, collaborative team where knowledge is shared and colleagues genuinely support each other. Whether you're new to consultancy or highly experienced, you'll have people around you who want to see you succeed.
Stability you can rely on. We've been doing this for a long time. Our longevity reflects the trust our clients place in us and the quality of work our team delivers. Joining us means joining a business with a strong foundation.
Whatever stage you're at in your H&S career, if Nottinghamshire is your patch and this sounds like the right environment for you, we'd love to hear from you.
