Pay: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 30hrs per week- Monday- Friday 9.30am – 3.30pm
(Occasional Working outside of these hours may be required)
Education: GCSE and A levels or equivalent

Job Summary: We are looking for a compassionate, organised, and proactive Hospital Hub Worker / Carers Advisor to join our team. This rewarding role supports unpaid carers and patients within the hospital setting, ensuring carers are recognised, informed, and connected to the support they need during hospital admission and discharge. As a Carers Advisor, you will provide information, advice, and practical support to unpaid Adult carers, helping them access the services, benefits, and resources they need to maintain their health, wellbeing, and caring role.
Blue Sky Carers Support provides support for unpaid carers within Bedford/Central Bedfordshire who look after a family member, friend or loved one. Whether you’re new to caring or have been supporting someone for years, we’re here to help you feel informed, confident and supported.
The Blue Sky Social Care Card is a fully verified ID card for the entire social care sector with added discount online and on the high street. An Apprentice Administrator would assist with production, order fulfilment, data input and customer service to a high standard.
Duties:
· Identify and engage with unpaid carers within the hospital environment.
· Provide information, advice, and practical support to carers regarding their rights, available services, benefits, and community resources.
· Support carers to access assessments and appropriate support services.
· Liaise with health and social care professionals to ensure carers are recognised as key partners in care.
· Deliver information sessions and raise awareness of carers' needs.
· Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and carers' rights at all times.
· Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
· Provide information, advice, and guidance to unpaid carers by telephone, online, and face-to-face.
· Complete carers' Wellbeing Assessments and identify support needs where appropriate.
· Support carers to access statutory and community services.
· Signpost and refer carers to relevant organisations and specialist support.
· Develop personalised support plans with carers.
· Promote carers' rights and raise awareness of the challenges carers face.
· Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
· Work collaboratively with health professionals, local authorities, community organisations, and partner agencies.
· Support events, awareness campaigns, and outreach activities to identify hidden carers.
The particular duties and responsibilities of this post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or level of responsibility involved.

· Has experience of providing advice, guidance, or support to individuals.
· Has excellent communication and listening skills.
· Can build positive relationships with carers and professionals.
· Is empathetic, organised, and able to manage a varied workload.
· Has good IT and record-keeping skills.
· Understands safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection.
· Is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable:
· Experience working with carers, vulnerable adults, or within health, social care, or the voluntary sector.
· Knowledge of carers' rights, including the Care Act 2014.
· Understanding of welfare benefits and community support services.
· Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Advice & Guidance, or equivalent experience.
