We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Tamworth.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a positive impact within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Support students with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Help implement individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
- Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Support students with emotional and behavioural needs where required
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with SEN/SEND is essential
- Experience within a school, care, or support setting preferred
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt support to individual pupil needs
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
