As a Senior / Principal Primary Electrical Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across our Primary Engineering function, supporting the successful delivery of high-voltage substation projects while helping to develop both our people and our business.
Working alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll lead technical delivery, support business development activities and act as a trusted technical authority for both Kelvin Power and the wider VINCI Energies network.
Provide technical leadership across Primary Engineering projects.
Lead the delivery of HV substation primary design projects from concept through to completion.
Act as a technical checker, approver and governance lead for engineering deliverables.
Mentor and develop engineers within the team, supporting technical excellence.
Lead client engagement, develop proposals and support winning new business opportunities.
Provide technical support across the wider VINCI Energies group where required.
Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies and engineering solutions.
Represent Kelvin Power at industry conferences, technical forums and working groups.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards, client requirements and quality expectations.
You'll be an experienced Primary Electrical Engineer with strong technical expertise in high-voltage substation design and a passion for delivering quality engineering solutions.
You'll ideally have:
A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
Chartered Engineer status (or be working towards it).
A minimum of 10 years' experience in HV Primary Plant Design.
Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects to demanding timescales.
Strong knowledge of UK transmission and distribution standards.
Excellent technical detailing and design review experience.
Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineering teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to build strong client relationships and contribute to business growth.
CDAE or LCDAE (Contractor Design Approval Engineer – Protection & Control) accreditation with National Grid is highly desirable.
