Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Support patients with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation.
- Engage in behavior management techniques to support clients with dementia or Alzheimer's care, ensuring a safe environment.
- Drive clients to appointments, errands, or social activities while maintaining safety standards through responsible driving.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, cleaning, and organizing personal spaces to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with first aid or other necessary interventions, ensuring client safety at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments with a focus on senior or hospice care.
- Strong knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer's disease management.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with the ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Compassionate communication skills for engaging effectively with clients of all ages, including children when applicable.
- Ability to perform meal preparation aligned with dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and basic first aid certification.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transporting clients safely.
- Experience in behavior management techniques tailored for individuals with cognitive impairments or behavioral challenges.
