Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Healthcare Assistant to join our team. This is a 10-hour-a-week position over 2 days. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their homes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives while developing your skills within the healthcare sector. The role involves working closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure personalised and effective care plans are implemented and maintained. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate travel and transporting clients to their activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with accessing the community, such as window shopping, cooking, going to the gym, swimming, etc
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a respectful and caring environment
- Administer medication as prescribed, following strict protocols and documentation procedures
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, observations, and any changes in client condition
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care needs and updates
- Assist with light domestic tasks within care environments or clients’ homes to promote comfort and wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes and maintaining electronic records
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for travel between two locations
- Ability to work flexibly
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow care plans accurately
