Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Planner to oversee and optimise our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation schedules, managing supply chain activities, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Duties
- Develop and implement transportation plans to meet delivery deadlines whilst optimising costs and resources
- Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and clients to schedule pickups and deliveries effectively
- Monitor transport operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Analyse logistical data using Microsoft Excel and other IT tools to identify areas for improvement
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, schedules, and related documentation using Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Manage unexpected delays or issues promptly, communicating effectively with all stakeholders
- Lead or assist in organising team meetings and training sessions related to logistics procedures
- Ensure all transport activities adhere to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
Skills
- Strong management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and specialised logistics software
- Knowledge of driving regulations and experience in managing transportation operations within the supply chain sector
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and oversee projects
- Sound understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and customer service principles
- IT literacy with the capability to analyse data, generate reports, and optimise logistical workflows
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Pay: £37,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
