Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care home and home care settings in the Armagh Area.. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, promote wellbeing, and ensure residents' comfort and safety. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans
- Support residents with mobility and daily activities to promote independence
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure clear understanding of needs and preferences
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff
- Document care activities accurately using IT systems and care documentation tools
- Support the organisation of activities that enhance residents’ wellbeing and social engagement
- Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments as required, ensuring their safety at all times
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, with the ability to listen actively and respond empathetically
- Basic IT skills for maintaining electronic care records and documentation
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism
- Driving skills are advantageous for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures to deliver personalised support tailored to individual needs
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Must have a drivers License and excess to a car.
