Ipswich Priory Centre is a Church and Community Centre offering a Café, and varied community programmes. As the first point of contact, the cook plays a major role in the Corps' weekly mission activities, bringing individuals together and offering fellowship, company, and good food. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join a growing programme. The successful applicant will prepare and cook high-quality food for customers as part of an effective catering service. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to join a busy community centre.
Key Responsibilities: The post-holder will cook to order snacks, breakfast and lunch service and plan healthy and nutritious menus that are cost-effective for the service, considering any nutritional and dietary requirements and customer opinion. The successful candidate will also provide guests
The post-holder will ensure that current health and safety, environmental health and hygiene standards, and other appropriate regulations and procedures are maintained within the catering facility (e.g., BFH / COSHH) and that food storage is carried out to approved British standards. Leaving everything clean and tidy.
The successful candidate(s) will:

Have good knowledge and experience in preparing and serving food in a commercial kitchen environment.

Able to influence others and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and external stakeholders.

Understand the community’s needs and has proficiency in English.

Have the ability to supervise the work of Assistants and Volunteers and provide training where necessary in collaboration with the Corps Officer.
