Charity Fundraising Campaign Manager – Birmingham
Build your own team. Lead from the front. Progress towards running your own office.
We are opening a new face-to-face fundraising operation in Birmingham and want to speak with experienced charity fundraisers who are already performing strongly in the field but feel ready for the next stage of their journey.
You may already know how to achieve consistent quality donor sign-ups. What you may not yet have been given is the opportunity to recruit, build, train and lead your own team.
That is what this opportunity is about.
The Opportunity
This will initially be a player-manager role.
You will continue fundraising in the field and leading from the front, while also beginning to recruit and develop your own team.
As you progress, you will learn how to:
- Recruit and interview fundraisers
- Train and develop new starters
- Coach people in the field
- Manage individual and team performance
- Build a strong team culture
- Develop future Team Leaders
- Understand the numbers behind a successful field operation
- Grow and manage your own team
The longer-term goal is to develop the right person towards building, leading and eventually running their own fundraising office operation.
Who We Are Looking For
You could currently be:
- A strong-performing Face-to-Face Charity Fundraiser
- A Senior Fundraiser ready for more responsibility
- A Door-to-Door or Private Site Fundraiser
- A Charity Fundraising Team Leader
- Someone performing well in the field who simply hasn't been given the opportunity to build their own team
You do not need years of management experience.
What matters is that you already understand face-to-face fundraising, are confident engaging with the public and consistently achieve quality donor sign-ups.
We are looking for someone who is ambitious, coachable and ready to progress beyond being an individual fundraiser.
The Support You Will Receive
You will not be expected to build this alone.
We will provide the infrastructure and support needed to help you make the transition from strong field performance into leadership.
This includes:
- Dedicated Birmingham office space
- Recruitment advertising and recruitment support
- Support with interviewing and selecting team members
- Help delivering training
- Ongoing coaching and development
- Team-building and performance-management support
- Operational support as your team grows
You will also be learning from someone with extensive experience in face-to-face and door-to-door field operations, who has personally worked in the field, recruited and trained teams, managed multiple door-to-door operations and progressed into Director-level positions within multimillion-pound companies.
Your development will include areas such as:
- The 5 Steps and 8 Steps
- Building rapport and effective communication
- Questioning and listening
- Handling objections professionally
- Achieving quality donor sign-ups
- Field mentality and consistency
- Recruitment and interviewing
- Training and coaching others
- Performance management
- Team leadership
- Building a successful field operation
This is practical development from someone who has worked through the field journey themselves, rather than simply management theory.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
We are not looking for somebody to simply take over an existing team.
You will have the opportunity to build your own.
If you're currently performing well but thinking:
“I know I can perform in the field — now I want the opportunity to build something.”
We would like to speak with you.
As your team grows, so will your responsibility, earning potential and progression.
Location
Birmingham
Based from a well-connected Birmingham office, with fundraising activity across Birmingham and surrounding areas.
Earnings & Progression
We are putting together an attractive performance-led structure that rewards both your own fundraising performance and the success of the team you build.
Full details of the campaign, earning structure and progression opportunity will be discussed during an initial conversation.
