The Role
As Kitchen Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring every service delivers the quality, consistency and speed that HANBAO is known for.
You'll lead by example, develop your team, manage stock and labour efficiently, maintain the highest food safety standards, and work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and motivate the kitchen team to perform at their best
- Deliver consistently high food quality, presentation and service standards
- Manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Control stock, ordering, wastage and food costs to achieve budget targets
- Manage labour scheduling and productivity within agreed budgets
- Maintain exceptional food safety, hygiene and compliance standards
- Recruit, train and develop team members, creating a positive kitchen culture
- Work closely with the management team to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements where needed
- Ensure equipment is maintained and the kitchen remains clean, organised and audit-ready
About You
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy, high-volume restaurant
- A confident leader who enjoys developing and motivating teams
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Commercially aware, with experience managing food costs, labour and stock
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
- Calm under pressure with a positive, hands-on attitude
- Passionate about delivering exceptional food and creating a great team culture
