Summary
The Governors of St James Primary School wish to appoint a hard-working, reliable and dedicated Site Supervisor. The successful applicant will act as a key holder and contribute to the smooth running of the school by carrying out a range of site supervisor duties including security and supervision of the site, handy-person and some cleaning duties as instructed by the Headteacher. The Site Supervisor will also oversee the work of two other cleaners.
St. James School is a vibrant and well resourced one form entry primary school with a separate nursery building on the same site. There are currently 240 children on roll. All members of the school community including children, all staff, families are valued and we are Committed to excellence in all we do. Members of staff are well supported, and a package of training is available for all.
Although set hours will be allocated at 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday 7.00 - 9.30am and 3.00 - 6.00pm) some flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the school. There may be opportunities for additional hours during school holidays. Holiday entitlement must be taken during school holidays. The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to work within a friendly, family-orientated church school community.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Caretaking (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in Caretaking (or equivalent)
Full driving licence (at Schools discretion)

- Experience of supervising staff
- Experience of maintenance and handy person role
Desirable Experience
- Experience of undertaking a caretaker or site supervisory function
- Experience of writing maintenance programmes
- Experience of planning and programming work
- Experience of undertaking manual tasks (maintenance and DIY)
- Experience of grounds maintenance / light gardening maintenance
- Experience of working within a school
Practical experience of monitoring contract arrangements
