Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse/Shop Assistant/Van Driver to join our team. This role is varied and involves assisting with warehouse operations, providing excellent customer service, and delivering goods efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in driving a van and warehouse activities, possess strong communication skills, and be capable of heavy lifting.
This role is within a busy family run builders merchant . We are looking ideally for someone that would like to join us learn the ropes and eventually run the store , some one who is keen and enthusiastic willing to take part with all tasks . The role would have a starting wage of £12.71 per hour with a pay review after 3 months .
Responsibilities
- Loading, unloading, and organising stock within the warehouse
- Assisting customers with purchases and enquiries in the shop area
- Operating a van for local deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of goods
- Conducting routine vehicle checks and maintaining cleanliness of the van
- Safely transporting items to various locations, adhering to all traffic regulations
- Assisting with inventory management and stock replenishment
- Communicating effectively with team members and customers to ensure smooth operations
- Performing heavy lifting when handling goods or equipment as required
Qualifications
- A valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving and warehouse operations is an advantage
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers
- Organised, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
