A leading engineering and technology business is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead manufacturing, stores and operational support functions across two UK sites.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, resource planning, technician utilisation and continuous improvement within a project-led engineering environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring manufacturing and site installation activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer, quality and commercial requirements.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for:
- Leading Manufacturing and Stores operations across two sites
- Managing operational performance, productivity, OTIF and resource utilisation
- Developing and coaching Operations Leads, Supervisors and wider operational teams
- Owning resource and capacity planning across manufacturing and site installation activities
- Managing the availability and deployment of skilled electrical and mechanical technicians
- Ensuring materials, inventory and stores activities support project delivery requirements
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, delivery and cost
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and operational cost control
- Collaborating with Programme Managers, Construction Managers and Engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Maintaining high standards of QHSE compliance across all activities

Essential Experience
- Proven leadership experience within manufacturing, workshop or production operations
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, including Supervisors and Team Leaders
- Strong resource planning and capacity management experience
- Experience operating within a project-based engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs and operational performance
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Continuous Improvement and operational excellence experience
- Good understanding of QHSE requirements within an operational environment
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP would be advantageous)
Desirable Experience
- Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or Business qualification
- Multi-site operational leadership
- Experience managing stores, inventory or warehouse functions
- Manufacturing support to engineering project delivery organisations
- Experience managing electrical or mechanical technicians
- ERP, digitalisation or business improvement project experience
