Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated GCSE Maths Tutor to provide personalised tuition for Year 10 students in the NE23 area, specifically in Wear. This in-person role involves delivering engaging and effective lessons to support students in achieving their academic goals. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and experience working with children, particularly in mathematics. Responsibilities
- Deliver customised GCSE Maths tuition to Year 10 students, ensuring lessons are tailored to individual learning needs
- Create engaging lesson plans that promote understanding and confidence in mathematical concepts
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and motivation
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding progress and areas for improvement
- Maintain organised records of lesson plans, attendance, and student achievements
- Support students with special educational needs as required, adapting teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching GCSE Maths, preferably with Year 10 students
- Strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum and mathematical concepts at this level
- Experience working with children and young learners, including those with special educational needs
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex ideas clearly and patiently
- Organised and reliable, with the ability to plan lessons effectively and manage time efficiently
- Passionate about education and committed to supporting student success
