Bank Support Worker / Care Assistant – Learning Disabilities
Minimum of 2 shifts per month, ranging from 6 hours - 12.5 hours plus sleep in.
To be based in North Somerset (Nailsea, Clevedon and Weston Super Mare)

We are looking for a Bank Support Worker / Care Assistant to join our team supporting individuals who live in their own home or with parents, to access the community safely.
You will become part of a small, consistent team, giving you the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and provide person-centred support that truly makes a difference.
This role is ideal for someone looking for a stable part-time position with a supportive team environment, with the option to pick up additional hours if desired.
Hours
- Minimum availability of 2 shifts per month
- to include weekends
- Opportunity to pick up additional shifts and sleep ins if desired
Shift Times
Shifts vary across the rota and applicants must be able to work all shift patterns.
Typical shifts include:
- 09:00 - 16:30
- 07:00 – 19:30
- 09:30 – 22:00
- 09:30 – 22:00 (including sleep-in)
Sleep-in shifts are paid at £70 per night.
Pay
Standard hourly rate with no level 3 - £13.35
Standard hourly rate with a level 3 - £13.70
Weekend rate with no level 3 - £13.85
Weekend rate with a level 3 - £14.20
+ £70 sleep-in payment
What the Role Involves
This is a person-centred support role, helping individuals live as independently as possible while enjoying everyday life.
Support may include:
- Supporting with cooking, shopping and daily living skills
- Encouraging independence and building confidence
- Supporting individuals to access the community and activities
- Supporting hobbies, interests and social opportunities
- Providing emotional support and companionship
- Supporting with personal care where required
- Maintaining clear daily support records

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:

- Motivated to support people to build independence
Experience in care is welcome but not essential as full training will be provided.
Experience supporting individuals with complex epilepsy would be advantageous.
Due to the personal care needs of the individuals supported, this role is open to female applicants only in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
Applicants must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Be able to work the shift patterns outlined above
- Be eligible to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role)
