An experienced, responsible and reliable School Minibus Driver to transport pupils daily during term time to and from Belhaven Hill School following scheduled routes locally (Stenton, Haddington, Gifford) and potentially further afield for fortnightly exeat weekends and ends of term (Perth, Dundee, or Edinburgh Airport/ local train stations).
Working as part of a small transport team to provide school bus services for our children aged between 5 and 13, with a morning and evening bus run on designated routes in the East Lothian area and every second weekend during term time to complete a bus run to another county returning and picking up boarding pupils who have gone home for the weekend.
£13.76 per hour, minimum of 15 hours per week, term time only.
Core hours are approximately as follows:
7.00am to 8.30am Monday to Friday during Term Time
5.45pm to 7.15pm Monday to Thursday/Friday during Term Time
11.30am to 6.30pm Fridays and Sundays during Term Time on an Exeat Weekend (approximately every second Weekend) and end of Terms.
Additional driving for sports fixtures on Wednesdays and Saturdays may be available, as well as School Trips.
Key Attributes/Experience
- Responsible for the health and safety, comfort and welfare of pupils and staff whilst being transported in the vehicle.
- Carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks to your allocated vehicle, and to carry out basic maintenance (topping up fluid levels, tyre pressures, etc.).
- Reporting any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents.
- Ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
- Refuelling vehicles as required.
- Covering for absent colleagues.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current, clean and valid driving license which includes either D1 or a PCV license.
- The ability to become a member of the PVG scheme process through Disclosure Scotland.
