Overview
We are looking for an experienced and adaptable assistant manager to come into fold at Tapestry. Tapestry is a neighbourhood bar, with a range of customers from familiar regulars on a daily basis, to lively Friday and Saturday nights. We are cocktail and wine predominant, so cocktail experience would be desired, although not entirely essential. The same goes for wine knowledge. Managerial experience prior is essential.
Duties
- Lead the team and the bar on Friday or Saturday evenings
- Be in charge of social media on a daily basis
- Assist in managing daily bar operations, including stock control and cleanliness standards
- Maintain conversations with customers ensuring that customer service standards remain high at all times.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and alcohol licensing regulations
- Handle cash transactions accurately and manage billing procedures
- Organise shift schedules and delegate tasks to team members as required
- Ensure the bar area is clean, organised, and fully stocked at all times and presentation is efficient
- Address guest queries or concerns promptly to enhance their experience
- Proven experience in a hospitality environment, particularly within bars or restaurants
- Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service practices
- Strong serving skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing stock levels
- Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a restaurant or bar setting is desirable
- A friendly personality with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour
- A personal license is essential but can be provided.
