We are actively recruiting for a Pallet Sorter/ Repairer
The main aspect of the job will involve sorting and repairing of all of the pallets that come into the depot. This is a target based job and is a very fast paced environment and the ideal candidate must be able to deal with pressure and react quickly to various situations. The ideal candidate will be pro active and forward thinking to ensure solutions to all eventualities can be met in a timely manner.
Duties will also include visual inspection of stock using a vac lift, repairing of all defected stock to the required standard and specification. Full training will be provided in line with expectations for the selected candidate.
Reporting to the site supervisor and taking instruction of duties throughout the day.
Key activities include:
sorting pallets by type
inspecting the quality of pallets
repairing damaged pallets using reciprocating hand saw and pneumatic nail gun.
Essential requirements:
General labouring experience
Ability to work in a labour intensive role
High level of housekeeping standards, ensuring work spaces are kept clean, tidy and safe
Punctual and good attendance record
Preferable attributes:
Manual Handling training
Previous experience handling wooden pallets
Hand-held tool experience
Immediate starts available, experience in this field is desirable however full training will be given.
Starting pay - £12.80 per hour plus enhanced overtime rate upon hitting daily targets.
Overtime available to meet the needs of the business.
