Lorfords Contemporary is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Seamstress to join our team for 3 days per week.
We are looking for someone who takes real pride in their work and has exceptional attention to detail, to help the production team with inner and top cover cushions. The ideal candidate will be fast, meticulous and confident working across a wide range of fabrics, finishes and detailing.
The Role
You will be responsible for producing high-quality sewing and upholstery-related work to an exceptional standard, working with a variety of fabrics and detailed finishes. This is a hands-on role where precision, efficiency and craftsmanship are essential.
The Ideal Candidate
- Extensive experience as a seamstress, ideally within a luxury, interiors, upholstery or bespoke environment
- Experience in bordered seat and back cushions, scatter and lumbar cushions, bespoke cushion shapes and sizes.
- Fast and efficient, while maintaining an excellent standard of finish
- Meticulous with an exceptional eye for detail
- Highly experienced working with a wide variety of fabrics, including delicate and difficult-to-handle materials such as velvets and mohairs
- Confident working with different sewing techniques, finishes and detailing such as piping, fringes, braids and stitch work
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality work
- Reliable, organised and a strong team player
