Warehouse Operative
The Warehouse Operative supports the day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and efficiently. The role involves handling stock, maintaining organised storage areas and following company procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements at all times.
The position requires strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet operational deadlines and maintain high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and pack component parts to fulfil customer orders accurately
- Assemble high-frequency part packs for stock replenishment
- Prepare and dispatch orders by checking products against production documentation and selecting the correct shipping methods
- Receive and process incoming goods, including checking delivery documentation against purchase orders, recording deliveries, labelling and storing products correctly
- Assist with product returns by inspecting items, identifying causes of return and recording non-conformance information where required
- Assemble compressors to customer specifications, complete build documentation and prepare finished products for dispatch
- Assemble bolt packs by verifying quantities, picking parts from warehouse locations and weighing and packaging completed packs
- Operate manual pump trucks and forklift trucks to safely move stock within the warehouse

- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support efficient warehouse operations and meet customer delivery requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all equipment and systems used
- Knowledge of forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory; certification is a plus
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as WMS or AS400 is desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in construction or materials handling can be beneficial for understanding equipment operation and safety procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment
