We are looking for a proactive and organised Part-Time Credit Controller to support our finance function by ensuring timely payment of invoices and maintaining healthy cash flow.
Role Overview
The Part-Time Credit Controller will be responsible for managing customer accounts, reducing outstanding debt, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to manage collections professionally while providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor customer accounts and maintain accurate aged debt reports.
- Chase overdue invoices via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
- Resolve invoice queries promptly by liaising with customers and internal departments.
- Maintain accurate customer records and credit limits.
- Prepare weekly and monthly debtor reports for management.
- Negotiate payment plans where appropriate.
- Escalate unresolved debts in line with company procedures.
- Support month-end finance processes as required.
- Assist with general finance administration and ad hoc duties.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience in a Credit Controller or Accounts Receivable role.
- Strong understanding of credit control processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance/accounting software.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
Desirable
- Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- Experience working within an SME environment.
- AAT qualification or equivalent finance experience.
