Artworker – Signage & Large Format
Location: Middleton, Greater Manchester
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 DOE
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Full Time | Permanent | Office Based
I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Artworker to join an established signage and large format business based in Middleton.
This is a varied position that would suit someone with a good understanding of signage, large format print and vinyl graphics, who enjoys being part of a smaller team and doesn’t mind getting involved outside of their usual day-to-day responsibilities when needed.
Your main focus will be artwork and prepress, preparing customer files and creating accurate, production-ready artwork. However, during particularly busy or quieter periods, you may also help out with general office duties or lend a hand within production.
They’re looking for someone with a flexible, team-focused attitude rather than somebody who wants to sit behind a screen and only ever do artwork.
The Role
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for:
- Creating and preparing production-ready artwork for signage, large format print and vinyl graphics
- Checking customer-supplied files and making amendments where required
- Setting up artwork correctly for different print and production processes
- Creating scaled drawings, elevations and installation plans
- Ensuring artwork is accurate in terms of sizing, colour, resolution, bleed and finishing requirements
- Working closely with the production team to ensure jobs are practical and ready to manufacture
- Managing multiple jobs and priorities within a busy environment
- Supporting with general office/admin duties when required
- Helping within the production department during busy periods
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality throughout
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you’ll have previous experience within a signage, large format, print or vehicle graphics environment.
You’ll also need:
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Good understanding of print production, colour management and artwork setup
- Experience preparing artwork for large format printing and vinyl graphics
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs
- Confidence communicating with colleagues across both office and production
- A flexible attitude and willingness to get involved wherever needed
- Ability to work independently while still being a strong team player
Desirable Experience
You certainly don't need all of the below, but experience in any of these areas would be a bonus:
- SketchUp or similar 3D visualisation software
- AutoCAD, SolidWorks or other CAD packages
- Knowledge of illuminated signage, fabricated letters and bespoke signage
- Understanding of CNC routing and laser cutting
- Large format RIP software and print workflows
- WordPress / WooCommerce
- SEO, website content or digital marketing
- Social media content creation
