Superalloy Induction Furnace Operator
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, we are looking for an experienced Superalloy furnace operator preferably with a full range of skills including working on different superalloys at hi temperatures. Ideally from a heavy industry background, you will cooperate with existing staff to plan and carry out day to day operations of our superalloy induction furnaces. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established profitable business.
The Business:
Established over 60 years ago and based in Gloucester Avon Metals Ltd is a highly respected manufacturer of high-grade aluminium casting alloys, master alloys and grain refining products all in accordance with internationally recognised specifications. We have an international customer base, and are widely regarded as an important global metals trader.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- As part of our Foundry team you will work alongside our existing furnace men to carry out day to day operations of our superalloy facility.
- Liaise closely with our operations and production managers to ensure all plant and equipment is maintained to high standards and operated in an efficient manner.
- Skills and Experience required:
- Superalloy melting & casting
- Working as a team
- Experience in induction furnace melting
· Knowledge of working with Liquid Metal is desirable
· Previous training in counterbalance FLT driving and knowledge of using various types of machinery would be an advantage.
· Good workplace communication skills
· Attention to detail and the ability to carefully follow written melt Instruction Sheets
· Awareness of the importance of Health & Safety measures and complying with guidelines
· As this work is very physical, a reasonable level of fitness is required
Additional Information:
- Hourly paid on a four-weekly cycle
- Annual bonus based upon performance and company profitability
- 25 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays
