Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Assistant Service Manager with previous customer service experience in the motor trade. The ideal candidate will have excellent telephone manners and face to face communication skills. Strong administrative skills, IT literacy, adaptability, and the ability to organise and prioritise work are also essential.
Specific experience with JLR models and their owners would be a strong advantage but is not essential.
This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, maintaining data integrity, communicating with customers, and keeping a busy workshop organised.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent standards of customer service at every stage through all communication channels.
- Advising customers on estimates, technical queries and additional work required.
- Invoicing, taking payments and ordering required parts with a high level of accuracy.
- Updating the diary throughout the day to maintain a stable workload
- Liaise with the Operations Manager to maintain service standards and workshop efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in a service advisor or service management role is a must.
- Good mechanical understanding of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles would be advantageous.
- Excellent face to face, phone-based and written customer service skills and a professional demeanour.
- An efficient, organised and system oriented mindset, with a knowledge of Kaizen principles.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cash handling and basic financial control procedures.
- Experience handling customer data responsibly, effectively and in line with GDPR requirements.
Pay & Hours
- Basic pay starts at £17.50 per hour with a profit-based bonus scheme and overtime available.
- Realistic OTE of £40,000 per annum.
- Monday to Friday: 08:30 - 17:00
- Saturdays: 09:00 - 13:00 (overtime on a rota basis)

Due to the specialist nature of the role, applicants should ideally have previous experience in the motor trade or automotive service environment.
Applicants must also have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence.
