HGV Technician

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Northampton.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled Technician who enjoys working on a varied fleet rather than carrying out repetitive work. You'll be joining a busy engineering team where technical ability, attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship are genuinely valued.
The Role
You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs, helping to keep the fleet safe, reliable and roadworthy.
Your duties will include:
- Servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out inspections and MOT preparation work
- Using diagnostic equipment and fault-finding techniques
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Completing accurate workshop documentation
Shift Pattern
- Early: 06:00 – 14:30
- Late: 14:00 – 22:30
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 3 HGV / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification
- Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- A reliable and professional approach
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
