We're looking for two technical experts to join our operations team, a Dispatch Specialist and a Labels & Promo Specialist. Both roles own the standards in their area and are responsible for driving safety, quality, flow, and commercial performance.
About the position:
- Salary range £33,000–£57,000, depending on experience
-
This position is production based, 5 days a week, at our site in Manvers, Rotherham.
-
Permanent, full-time
-
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- As our Dispatch Specialist, you'll be responsible for ensuring that every parcel leaving Bluetree Group is packed perfectly, shipped safely, and handled through the most efficient processes possible.
-
As our Labels & Promo Specialist, you'll be responsible for ensuring every label and promotional item is produced, and finished to the highest standard, through the most efficient processes possible.
-
You are the ambassador for your area of the business so you will deal with external companies, suppliers and be the go-to person for any technical queries.
Key Systems Ownership:
Safety & 5S
- Ensure the 5S and Safety system is healthy in your areas, ensuring all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments (RAs) for equipment are understood and signed by all members of the team.
- Champion a safety first culture in the areas; leading weekly safety walks of the area to identify hazards.
- Be the guardian of the 5S system to ensure that the area is always ‘audit-ready'.
- You define and train the team on the safest processes and ways to operate equipment
Output
- Monitor the machine line speeds to ensure we are hitting our targets. You feedback any underperformance, by operators, to supervisors and suppliers.
- You identify 'non-value' tasks and refine the process so the team can get more done with less effort.
Flow
- Ensuring a smooth, continuous flow of work throughout the area.
- You spot where work is piling up and adjust the technical setup or station layouts to keep things moving.
Quality
- You define what 'right first time' looks like for all processes that pass through the area.
- When a quality issue occurs, you don't just fix the job; you fix the process to make sure it doesn't happen again.
-
You attend all Quality Stand Up meetings every week and ensure any process changes are rolled out.
Team
- As the specialist for your area, you are the 'go-to' person for complex queries, and you are the bridge between the sales team and production.
-
You own the technical induction for new starters and the upskilling of the current team.
-
You contribute to the design and technical work for the new machines as the expert in the field.
-
Be ready to flex your hours or priorities across the department, if you see a bottleneck arising.
Equipment
- You design end to end processes for the area to ensure the products are production-ready before they reach the first process.
-
You are the master of our production systems and software, and feedback improvements to the Systems team.
- You oversee the health of machinery and coordinate with Engineering to ensure they are maintained before they fail.
Commerciality
- You understand cost structures and ensure we are using the most cost-effective materials without compromising quality.
-
You monitor the use of consumables to reduce waste and proactively come up with ideas to reduce costs.
