Multi Trades Recruitment is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to begin work for a well-established mechanical contractor in the Thame, Oxfordshire area.

Working Hours - Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary - £45,000 – £60,000 per annum (DOE)

Location - Postcombe, near Thame, Oxfordshire (office-based with hybrid flexibility)
Brief Role Description –
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join an established estimating team, preparing accurate and commercially competitive tenders for new-build mechanical packages typically valued between £500,000 and £3 million. You will manage tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover, working closely with directors, clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
Projects cover a range of mechanical services including plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sprinklers, dry risers, renewable technologies and BMS controls.
Duties will include:
- Preparing detailed estimates for design-and-build mechanical packages
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Completing labour and material take-offs
- Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Building tender prices across labour, materials, plant and specialist packages
- Identifying commercial risks, exclusions and value-engineering opportunities
- Attending tender meetings, site visits and project clarification meetings
- Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
- Managing multiple tenders to agreed deadlines
- Providing detailed handovers to commercial and project delivery teams following successful bids
About You:
- Around 5 years' mechanical estimating experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services
- Previous new-build construction experience
- Experience estimating design-and-build mechanical packages
- Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of labour, material, plant and subcontractor costs
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Confident managing multiple tenders and deadlines
- Good Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
- Trimble estimating software experience advantageous
- Experience within residential developments, apartments, care homes, commercial buildings or education projects advantageous
