Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to join our care team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to residents during night hours, ensuring their safety, comfort, and wellbeing. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, attentive, and dedicated to delivering person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care support including washing, dressing, and toileting where required
- Assist residents with mobility and repositioning to ensure comfort throughout the night
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond promptly to any needs or emergencies
- Carry out regular night checks and maintain accurate care records
- Support residents with hydration and light snacks if needed
- Ensure the environment remains safe, clean, and comfortable during night hours
- Develop person centred care plans
- Follow care plans and work in accordance with safeguarding and health & safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with the day team during handover
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
- Can do attitude
- A caring, patient, and respectful approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
- Good communication and observation skills
- Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it)
- Experience working in a residential care home, nursing home, or supported living environment
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding and moving & handling procedures
