Role: Residential Childcare Worker (RCW) / Residential Support Worker (RSW) – Children’s Homes
Location: Preston and Surrounding Areas (Bamber Bridge Walton-le-Dale Lostock Hall Leyland Clayton-le-Woods Chorley)
Salary: Up to £35,500 per annum
Hours: 39.2 hours per week.
Shift pattern: 5 week rolling rota - 2 days on, 3 days off
Shift Times: 8am - 10pm followed by a sleep in
Sleep Ins: Approximately 12 sleep ins per month
£55 paid per sleep-in carried out.
Northridge Care Group is recruiting for Residential Childcare Workers / Residential Support Workers to join our children’s residential homes. Our services support young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), learning disabilities (LD), autism, and other complex needs.

The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Key Worker to support children and young people in their daily lives. In this role, you will play an important part in helping them feel safe, valued, and supported while developing the skills they need for the future. You will provide consistent, warm, and empowering care, ensuring every young person’s individual needs, voice, and rights are respected.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide high-quality care within a children’s residential home (EBD and LD services)
- Support young people with emotional and behavioural needs, learning disabilities, and autism
- Act as a key worker, contributing to care plans and placement plans
- Support daily routines, education, and the development of life skills and independence
- Deliver trauma-informed and person-centred care
- Promote positive behaviour and support young people to achieve positive outcomes
- Safeguard and advocate for young people, following safeguarding procedures
- Maintain accurate daily records, incident reports, and documentation
- Contribute to maintaining Ofsted standards and a safe residential environment

Training Requirement
All successful candidates will be required to commit to a 2-week onsite training and induction programme before starting shifts. This ensures you are fully prepared to deliver safe, high-quality care in line with our standards.
