About the Role
MYGroup is an established waste management and recycling business operating across a range of recycling, recovery and circular economy services.
We are looking for a full-time IBC Cleaning Operative / Recycling Operative to join our team at the Goole Recycling Facility. The main responsibility of the role will be cleaning, checking, preparing and managing open-top IBCs and reusable containers for use across the group and for customer supply.
This role has been created to improve the quality and consistency of cleaned IBCs leaving the site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that IBCs are cleaned, inspected, stored correctly and maintained to a suitable standard before being placed into stock or sent out to customers.
This is a hands-on, physical, yard-based role. The work will involve pressure washing, container handling, forklift truck use where trained, outdoor working and maintaining good housekeeping standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean open-top IBCs and other reusable containers using a pressure washer and site cleaning equipment.
- Inspect IBCs before and after cleaning to confirm they are suitable for reuse.
- Maintain a clean and organised stock of reusable open-top IBCs.
- Help ensure that Goole maintains a reliable stock of clean IBCs for group use.
- Separate clean, reusable IBCs from damaged, dirty, contaminated or unsuitable containers.
- Check general IBC condition, including lids, frames, valves, liners, labels and visible damage.
- Move IBCs and containers around the site safely.
- Load and unload containers from vehicles, trailers and designated storage areas.
- Use a forklift truck where trained and authorised.
- Keep the IBC cleaning and storage area clean, tidy and safe.
- Report damaged containers, leaks, spills, unsafe conditions or equipment faults to management.
- Follow all site rules, risk assessments, safe systems of work and management instructions.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE.
- Support general recycling, yard and housekeeping duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be reliable, practical and able to take ownership of a routine but important operational role.
You must be able to work safely, follow instructions and maintain consistent standards without needing constant supervision. This role would suit someone with previous experience in recycling, waste management, manufacturing, industrial cleaning, yard work, warehousing, logistics or a similar hands-on environment.

Desirable Requirements
- Forklift truck licence or previous FLT experience.
- Previous experience working on a waste, recycling, yard, warehouse or industrial site.
- Experience using pressure washers or industrial cleaning equipment.
- Experience handling IBCs, drums, bins, skips or reusable containers.
- Basic understanding of waste segregation and site housekeeping.
Working Conditions
This is a physical outdoor role based at a permitted recycling facility. The successful candidate should expect wet, dirty and outdoor working conditions. Full PPE will be provided.
The role involves regular use of pressure washing equipment, manual handling, movement of containers and working around site vehicles and plant. Training will be provided where required.
