Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and compliance. Responsibilities
- Operate curtain sided lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
- Adhere strictly to all legal requirements related to commercial driving, including hours of service regulations
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
Experience
- Proven experience as a C & D delivery driver
- Demonstrable knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Experience with delivery routes, logistics planning, and cargo securing techniques
- Prior experience operating flatbed lorries is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles, with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety standards related to freight transportation
