Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) to deliver goods efficiently and reliably to various destinations. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with a proactive attitude, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle, including flatbed trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety and transportation regulations
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, optimizing time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload goods with care, adhering to proper handling procedures for flatbed cargo and rigid curtain sider,
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, delivery notes, and manifests
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Ensure all driving activities comply with legal requirements and company policies
- Must be over the age of 25 for insurance purposes.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly in delivery roles involving flatbed trucks and rigid curtain sider.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and transportation laws in the relevant jurisdiction
- Experience with delivery driver operations, including loading/unloading procedures for flatbed cargo
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
