Housing Officer – ASB & Safeguarding
£24 – £26 per hour (umbrella)
36.25 hours per week | Monday to Friday
We are seeking an experienced ASB or Housing Officer to join a housing association in Greater Manchester on a temporary contract. The role will manage a geographical patch across Manchester, with a strong focus on ASB, safeguarding, tenancy enforcement and neighbourhood management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a designated housing patch, taking ownership of ASB, safeguarding and tenancy-related concerns
- Investigate and manage cases involving ASB, domestic abuse, harassment, neighbour disputes and tenancy breaches
- Identify safeguarding concerns, undertake risk assessments and make appropriate referrals to police, social services and partner agencies
- Conduct tenancy, welfare and estate visits, identifying vulnerability, safeguarding risks and tenancy breaches
- Gather evidence and progress appropriate warnings, enforcement action and ASB interventions
- Work proactively to prevent escalation through early intervention, mediation and partnership working
- Manage sensitive cases involving vulnerable residents, including those affected by mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse and homelessness
- Investigate tenancy fraud, unlawful occupation and other tenancy breaches
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure ASB and safeguarding cases are progressed within required timescales
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to improve community safety and neighbourhoods
Requirements
- Experience in social housing, tenancy and estate management (essential)
- Proven experience managing ASB and safeguarding cases (essential)
- Knowledge of housing legislation, ASB processes, safeguarding and tenancy enforcement
- Experience supporting vulnerable residents and managing complex caseloads
- Strong investigation, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with police, local authorities and partner agencies (preferred)
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
- Experience using Northgate (NEC) or React case management systems
- Ability to manage a varied caseload across a large geographical patch
