We're looking for a highly organised, dependable and energetic Operations & STEM Workshop Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role combining warehouse-based operations with delivering exciting science sessions to children several afternoons each week.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy and organisation, and is confident engaging with children.
The majority of your time will be spent in our warehouse preparing and maintaining science kits used in our workshops and clubs. You'll also deliver Mad Science sessions to groups of children two or three afternoons each week after receiving full training.
No warehouse experience is required, but attention to detail, reliability and a strong work ethic are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Operations
- Building and preparing science kit boxes for workshops and events
- Checking returned kits and equipment for completeness and quality
- Preparing consumable materials and stock packs
- Following detailed checklists and procedures accurately
- Organising and maintaining warehouse stock
- Identifying missing, damaged or low-stock items
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of operations
Workshop Delivery
- Delivering engaging Mad Science sessions to groups of children
- Setting up and packing away workshop materials
- Creating a positive and energetic learning environment
- Following lesson plans and safety procedures
- Acting as a positive role model for children

Essential Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail

- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
- Experience working with children in some capacity (school, childcare, camps, coaching, tutoring, youth work or similar)
Desirable
- Experience in education, childcare, camps, clubs or activity programmes
- Experience delivering presentations or leading groups
- Basic stock control or warehouse experience
- Interest in science, STEM or education
